SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW OPEN for the 2008 Baltimore Improv Festival!

Submission deadline is May 23. Notifications of acceptance made by May 30.

The second annual Baltimore Improv Festival will take place at the Creative Alliance at the Patterson and will feature 3 nights of shows and 2 days of workshops. About 20 performance slots are available across the 3 show nights: Thursday 7/31, Friday 8/1, and Saturday 8/2. Any show improvised for a live audience is eligible--from long-form and short-form to experimental formats.

Submission is easy:

  1. Fill out the application form, which requires a url where we can see video of your troupe performing. Don't worry--you can upload to Google Video for free!
  2. Pay the $25 submission fee when you click the Paypal button below. You don't need to have a Paypal account.

The 2007 Baltimore Improv Festival featured 16 acts from 6 states. They were short-form, long-form, puppet improv, musical improv, and experimental improv. This year we want to host all of that again--and more!

The 2007 festival acts performed for nearly 1000 people, many of whom were attending their first-ever improv show! Almost every show sold out, and some were standing-room only. And holy cow, was it HOT! Not to worry: we'll be in a bigger venue this year (about 200 seats), with lots of cold AC!

The Baltimore Improv Festival is produced by the Baltimore Improv Group (BIG), a 501(c)3 non-profit group with an artistic mission: advancing the art of improvisational theater in the greater Baltimore area through public performances and classes.
